The artificial Livigno Lake has occupied the North part of the Spöl valley for the last 30 years and is without a doubt the focal point of the whole area. Trepalle, during the winter is an immense open blanket of snow. It is sheer heaven for alpine skiers, snowboarders and off-piste skiers in this lovely area.

One of the highlights of the area is the spectacular Red Bernina Express train which starts in Tirano and ends in St.Moritz. The Bernina Express climbs steep inclines to an altitude of 2,253 m with views over the Morteratsch glacier and the Bernina group. It is possible to see excellent views of the glacier close up by getting off at the "Diavolezza" stop and taking the cable car ride to the top (departures every 20/30 minutes).

St. Moritz is situated next to Engadine's breathtaking lakescape at 1,856 meters above sea level. Highlights of the area include the Bormio thermal station, St. Moritz casino and La Bassa Engadina which is a collection of charming villages. There are many passes which connect Switzerland to Italy which are well-frequented during the summer. The Alpine hut Cassana is well used during the summer for bicycle excursions. The hut is one of the highest in the Alps, at 2601m and can be reached by mountain bike.
